2026

2006 – 2026. An anniversary year for Limitless Cycling / Filip Sport, celebrated at a new location.

The third edition of our Legendary Stages series takes us to the iconic Tre Cime di Lavaredo.

2025

Limitless Cycling becomes the distributor of Ciöcc, Italian bicycle craftsmanship with an enviable history.

Organisation of the 2nd Legendary Stage: Grenoble – Les Deux Alpes.

2024

An outlier this year was the launch of ‘Legendary Stages’.

Bangnères de Luchon – Mourenx, 214km and 4,900hm following the example of that other Belgian who did it for us in 1969.

And then there was the shooting of our video ‘A week of Limitless cycling fun’!

2023

Setting up a ‘Service Course’ at our base of operations in Jávea (Calpe region). A full workshop and top rental and test bikes.

2022

1979-2022: after 42 years and 6 months, the torch is passed on. The shop and workshop are continued by Geert, Bjorn and their team. From July onwards, the shop will be renamed Volta fietsen.

We remain active as organisers of cycling trips and events.

Launch of Limitless Cycling Journeys, a division of Filip Sport.

Support and participation in Cycle Against Cancer. A charity ride from Waterloo to Bergamo in 6 rides concluding the 7th day participation in the Felice Gimondi Granfondo.

The Filip Sport cycling week ‘Pine Cliffs’ takes place at a unique location in the Algarve (Portugal) and is a thank you to our customers for their years of trust.

Filip Sport becomes agent for Belgium of Officine Mattio, Italian craftsmanship fato a mano in Cuneo, Italia.

 

2021

Corona limits our activities.

Third edition Bikers for Virunga enjoys great interest.

Sport & Culture with the Filip Sport Discovery 4Days. A 4-day through the beautiful Tuscan countryside and visit with city guide to ancient Siena.

Introducing Filip Sport 3.0. Even more focus on customer service, selected offerings and experience.

Organisation of the Tour of the Classics. A 7-day tour of all the iconic places of the spring classics.

2019

1979-2019. As part of 40 years of Filip Sport, Bikers for Virunga will be organised, a particularly ambitious event.

Direction Stelvio : in 8 rides from Hoeilaart to the top of this Giant in the Italian Alps.

1997

Aluminium is in ! Filip Sport CX frames immediately met with great acclaim : ‘made in Italy’, nice finish, light tube set, personalised colours and fittings. A bull’s eye …

A penchant for perfection: the philosophy of the prestigious Canadian brand Rocky Mountain perfectly matches our aspirations and goals. We have come full circle. Or is it?

1996

The import story is expanding. Fully in line with Jamis and Race Face’s philosophy, Pearl Izumi (the reference brand in terms of clothing) and Wilderness Trail Bikes (WTB) parts are added to the list. White Lightning, the most successful and revolutionary lubricant follows.

1993

Filip Sport becomes exclusive Benelux distributor for Jamis, a (smaller) US manufacturer delivering attractive and lightweight mountain bikes and hybrid bikes with a homogeneous fitment and attractive price/quality ratio.

Exclusive distributor of Race Face for Belgium. The Netherlands and G.H. Luxembourg will follow.

1992

27 January, move and opening of Filip Sport in new building. Kasteelstraat becomes the new location.

Import of Manitou frames, then ‘handmade in Colorado’ and the quirky brand of the legendary Doug Bradbury.

Introduction to Race Face, the beginning of a success story.

The first Jamis bikes find their way to satisfied users.

The Filip Sport Mountain Bike Race is organised for the first time.

1990

Import of titanium Kona frames.

Together with B. Hanciaux, H. Van Essche and D. Persoons, the first 24h of Brussels for mountain bikers are won. An endurance race with teams of 4 riders each organised by T.S.O. with the Forest the Soignes and the Groenendaal racecourse as the backdrop

1989

Specialized enters the Belgian market. Filip Sport will be best Benelux dealer of the US brand for three consecutive years.

Meeting Adrian Carter and distribution of his Pace aluminium frames.

1988

Import of the first Cannondale, an unknown brand to the Belgian and even European public

1987

Pioneer of mountain biking. Development of own mountain bike line.

Organisation of MTB rides in the nearby Forest the Soignes.

1986

The triathlon microbe is catching on, with highlights being an eighth place in the Belgian Championship 1/2 triathlon in La Roche and a 23rd in the 3/4 of La Réunion.

1985

Together with cycling companion Bernard Hanciaux, we are taking part in Paris-Dakar. No, not by bike but in a Toyota Landcruiser. The Dakar beach is reached in 44th position. A life experience richer.

1983

The first Filip Sport road frames are available.

1979

Work and passion. A few months’ internship at artisan frame shop ‘Malec’ where basic knowledge of welding and handling specific tools is taught as a run-up to retail. FILIP SPORT opens for the first time on 10 November in Henri Caronstraat in Hoeilaart.

1976

A boyhood dream comes true. A BWB licence as a novice allows me to ‘race’. Four wins out of 45 races are a first result …
